North West Londoner Omar Among New Big Brother UK Housemates

Omar, a 21-year-old from North West London, has entered the Big Brother UK house as one of 16 new housemates for Season 23, which is now airing on ITV2 and ITVX. The series sees contestants compete for a £100k cash prize, determined by a public vote.

The New Housemates and an Early Twist

Omar joins a diverse cast of housemates, including fellow Londoners Lynx (24) and Frankie (23) from East London, and Rhianna (21) from Chelsea. The full lineup of housemates also features individuals from across the UK and beyond, such as Yasmin (29, Manchester), Harry (30, Croydon), Philip (53, Liverpool), Charlotte (18, Oxford), and Johanne (44, Los Angeles), among others, as reported by Deadline.

This season has introduced early surprises, including an initial twist involving a ‘mole’ housemate. Tays (Michael Taylor), a member of Bov Boys, has entered the house for one week with the task of causing chaos.

Longer Run and New Companion Show

Big Brother UK 2026 is set to run for eight weeks, concluding in early November, making it the longest civilian run series on ITV to date, according to Capital UK. This extends the typical six-week format seen in previous ITV iterations of the show.

AJ Odudu and Will Best have returned as co-hosts for the main series. Additionally, a new companion show, Big Brother: The Group Chat, airs Sunday through Thursday nights directly after the main broadcast on ITV2, ITVX, and YouTube. Hosted by former Big Brother winner Kate Lawler and GK Barry, the show offers exclusive interviews with evicted housemates, celebrity fans, and special guests, alongside discussions about the house dynamics.

The introduction of Big Brother: The Group Chat replaces the previous ‘Late & Live’ format and has garnered mixed reactions from fans. While some viewers appreciate its more intimate, podcast-like style, others, according to Digital Spy, have expressed a preference for the higher energy and audience interaction of the former live show.

Big Brother UK 2026: What to Expect

Throughout the season, viewers can anticipate a range of ambitious tasks, high-stakes nominations, and dramatic live evictions as the housemates face various challenges. The series aims to keep contestants on their toes with unexpected twists in their bid to be the last one standing and claim the cash prize.
